Ningbo hosts talent fair, drawing thousands of young people

The 27th Ningbo High-Level Talent Recruitment Fair on Sept 20 welcomed a whopping 19,000-plus attendees to the Ningbo International Conference and Exhibition Center.

This year's event partnered up with the national recruitment action for 2026 graduates. It attracted 785 employers that were offering more than 16,000 job openings, with an average annual salary exceeding 160,000 yuan ($22,492).

Seventeen themed zones showcased opportunities across manufacturing, finance and emerging industries. Companies like Grand Resources Group Co Ltd received dozens of resumes within minutes. "It's a highly efficient way to connect with top talent," said Xiao Erya, the company's human resource officer.

Young professionals arrived from across China, including Liu Rixin, a finance major from Jilin University. After submitting resumes to several financial institutions, Liu praised Ningbo's clear career paths and generous support. "We received a 1,500 yuan travel subsidy, free metro rides and free accommodation," he said.

Beyond recruitment, the fair emphasized warmth and integration. A dedicated service zone offered guidance on housing, dining and transportation, along with cultural experiences and career coaching. AI-powered interview stand helped candidates to refine their skills and boost their confidence.

With over 80 percent of attendees holding master's degree or doctorates, the fair underscored Ningbo's growing appeal as a destination for high-level talent.
