Shaoxing opens talent week, spotlighting innovation, industry synergy

Shaoxing in Zhejiang province launched its 2025 talent week on Sept 21. Nearly 300 participants, including academicians, young professionals, and business leaders, gathered to explore pathways for innovation and high-quality development.

As a key platform for attracting top talent, this year's talent week features 25 events across three major series. During the opening ceremony, the city released two strategic documents for the low-altitude economy and artificial intelligence industries, respectively, and a set of targeted measures to support entrepreneurial talent.

Provincial and municipal officials presented certificates to tech entrepreneurs and launched new platforms for talent-driven innovation. A number of key technology projects were also signed on-site.

Since becoming Zhejiang province's sole pilot zone for integrated reform in education, technology, and talent in 2023, Shaoxing has introduced the region's first local legislation focused on talent development.

The city has run dedicated talent recruitment trains for eight consecutive years, bringing in 13 top-tier global experts and more than 1,500 provincial-level or higher-level leading professionals.

For three straight years, Shaoxing has ranked first in Zhejiang for the number of selected candidates under national talent programs. In 2024 alone, the city added 150,000 newly employed university graduates, placing it 25th nationwide in urban talent appeal.

Backed by a modern industrial ecosystem, Shaoxing continues to unlock momentum through talent-industry integration. The city is now home to over 820,000 market entities and nearly 260,000 registered enterprises, including 80 A-share listed companies.
