Jiaxing Port expands global, regional trade links

Container vessels were busy loading and unloading at the phase two terminal of the Zhapu port area of Jiaxing Port in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, on Aug 20.

This year, Jiaxing Port has been working on launching new international shipping routes while strengthening sea-river transport connections across the Yangtze River Delta region. The strategy aims to create a network that is both outward-looking and regionally integrated.

The port has now established 12 foreign trade routes, covering Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, the Mediterranean, and South America. In the first half of the year, container throughput at Jiaxing Port exceeded 2.12 million twenty-foot equivalent units, up 19.02 percent year-on-year. The growth rate was the highest among all coastal ports in the province.
