"Zhejiang has shown a sample of sustainable development, where the goal of creating a beautiful environment and beautiful economy can indeed be achieved." On April 15, a bright spring day, "Stories of CPC - Zhejiang's Achievements in Practicing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era" thematic briefing, which is co-hosted by the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, started its second day of the study tour.
From the China National Tea Museum to the Yucun Village and Lujiacun Village of Anji County, ambassadors from more than 30 countries and representatives of international organizations appreciated the poetic and picturesque scenery of Zhejiang.
"If I had a house, I would always live in this village ." Selim Belortaja, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania in the People's Republic of China, said sincerely when he visited Yucun Village. After getting off at the entrance of the village, he crossed the greenway and ecological forest, went into the cinema to learn about the history of the village's development, experienced local specialties at the e-commerce service center, and communicated with the villagers in the farmhouse. Although the trip was short, it made a deep impression on him.
This trip shows the vision that “lucid waters and lush mountains are indeed mountains of gold and silver”, which has been practiced by Yucun Village for more than ten years. Back then, Yucun Village shut down the mines and blocks of cement plants, started to improve the environment and restore the ecology. Today, the green coverage of Yucun Village is more than 90%. Yucun Village built Kuangshan Park, an agricultural experience area, and has been transformed from a "polluted village" to a beautiful homeland with good mountains and rivers.
On the wide village road, delegates stopped from time to time and took pictures of the bamboo buildings in the fields and the beautiful courtyards of the villagers’ homes. Djauhari Oratmangun, ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the People's Republic of China said that in terms of environmental protection and ecological construction, Zhejiang has been at the forefront of the world.
At the Lujiacun Village Tourism Distribution Center, the wife of the ambassador of The Kingdom of Royal Thai Embassy in China enthusiastically selected bamboo shoots and tea leaves to bring back to Beijing. At the Woodwork Experience Hall, the counselor of the Embassy of Portugal in China experienced woodwork with enthusiasm. Riding the small train around the village and stopping at the cafe station, Marc Hübsch, ambassador of Luxembourg to China, enjoyed a relaxing time. They all praised: "Compared with European villages, Lujiacun Village no less impressive."
"Through the development of industries such as rural tourism and modern agriculture, Zhejiang's countryside has turned the environment into resources and ecology into the economy, and has made a path of sustainable green development." Paul Andrew Gomez, the ambassador of The Bahamas to China, said his country, located on the west coast of the Atlantic Ocean, consists of many islands and still has many poor people. "Zhejiang's experience and China's road are worth learning from."
Before visiting Anji County, the delegates also visited the China National Tea Museum. People in the museum, the museum in the tea garden, tea garden hidden in the city, all enjoyed the scenery in front of them. "This is an example of the poetic combination of nature and culture." said Raja Dato' Nushirwan Zainal Abidin, the ambassador of Malaysia to China.
