The 3rd Liangzhu Forum will take place in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, from Oct 18 to 20, organizers announced at a press briefing on Oct 10.

Titled Revitalization of Civilization: Cultural Heritage and Human Culture Diversity, the event will include one main forum, four sub-forums, and six supporting activities, with around 400 participants expected.

The opening ceremony and main forum will be held on Oct 18, attended by leaders from China's cultural authorities and representatives from UNESCO and the UN World Tourism Organization, or UN Tourism.

The four sub-forums will explore topics including the wisdom of ancient civilizations, archaeological site protection, museum innovation, and world cultural heritage preservation.

Supporting events will include an international symposium on A Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings, a Liangzhu cultural creative market, a China-US symphony concert, and the China (Hangzhou) International Biennale of Art and Technology.

During the forum, UN Tourism's Best Tourism Villages Awards and annual meeting will be held in Anji, Huzhou. Zhejiang currently leads China with three villages — Yucun, Xiajiang, and Xitou — named among the UN's Best Tourism Villages.

For the first time ever, the forum will see both UNESCO and UN Tourism heads attending, highlighting international cooperation. Experts and scholars from leading institutions such as Harvard, MIT, and Oxford, as well as global heritage organizations, will join discussions.
