Taizhou deploys AI robots to manage crab farming

An AI-powered inspection robot has been introduced to oversee crab farming operations at Fengchan Shuichan Co Ltd — a company based in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province — which offers round-the-clock monitoring of aquaculture conditions.

Equipped with multiple sensors, the robot continuously tracks key indicators such as water temperature, pH levels, and dissolved oxygen.

It also uses image recognition to detect abnormal activity and identify diseased or dead crabs, sending early warnings when necessary.

Smart robots have greatly reduced labor costs and eased the workload of farm workers. More importantly, it has improved the survival rate of crabs while ensuring stable product quality.
