The Experience China: A Symphony of Stories on China-US People-to-People Friendship exchange event was held at the Chinese Embassy in the United States on Aug 27 (US local time), marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War.

The event featured powerful storytelling of the China-US friendship intertwined with the melody of classic symphony music and a themed image exhibition displaying historical photos and videos to recreate the memories of mutual support between the Chinese and American people during wartime.

In 1942, after a daring bombing raid on Japan, 75 US airmen led by Lieutenant Colonel James Doolittle were forced to bail out or crash-land in China after running out of fuel. The Chinese people rescued 64 of them, including those who recuperated in Quzhou.

The image exhibition at the event included the exhibition themed on Bonds Forged in Blood and Fire: The Doolittle Raid and the Great Rescue.

The newly published non-fiction literature Heroic Mountains and Rivers: Quzhou's Promise in 1942, farmer paintings, and cultural creative products from Quzhou were also displayed at the event.
