Leveraging FAHZU’s academic strengths, the Center will focus on three key cooperation areas: medical talent development, healthcare collaboration, and scientific innovation.
FAHZU will focus on critical areas including infectious diseases, malignant tumors, neuropsychiatric disorders, geriatric health, cardiovascular diseases, and life support for critically ill patients; establish a China-Arab Vaccine Innovation and R&D Alliance; receive doctors and administrators from Arab health institutions for training in China; provide internationalized, customized health services for people in Arab countries; leverage the integrated advantages of traditional Chinese and Western medicine to conduct joint research; and empower Arab countries' public health management with artificial intelligence.
In recent years, FAHZU has maintained close cooperation with Arab countries in public health, with multiple exchange visits and signed agreements: in June 2023, the hospital signed a scientific research cooperation agreement with Egypt's Nahda University; in November 2023, the hospital visited Thumbay Hospital and Gulf Medical University in UAE; in January 2024, a delegation led by the Deputy Minister of the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention and the Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority visited FAHZU.
In October 2024, a delegation from Zhejiang University and FAHZU visited Arab countries including Algeria, UAE, and Kuwait, signing an Memorandum of Understanding. In 2025, FAHZU launched an international, high-standard Workshop Program specifically designed for medical professionals from Arab countries. In May 2025, the first group of five trainees selected by Egypt's Ministry of Health started their exchange programs at FAHZU. The hospital will soon receive additional doctors from Egypt and Mauritania for training.
