Wang Shu, an international student from Jiaxing University in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, praised local police for their efficiency and kindness after smoothly completing her residence permit application on June 6.
As summer vacation approaches, demand for residence permit services among international students is peaking. The Jiaxing municipal bureau of exit-entry administration identified high demand for residence permits from students at Jiaxing University in particular. With the university's elevation in status and a growing international student population — up over 50 percent from last year — police acted swiftly.
From June 4 to 6 and on June 9, the local bureau of exit-entry administration launched a targeted service campaign. They worked closely with the university to guide preparation of required documents, set up special service windows, deployed additional officials, and opened special channels for faster processing.
"In just four days, we completed residence permit processing for 240 international students from 28 countries and regions," said Yu Li, an official of the Jiaxing municipal bureau of exit-entry administration.
As more international visitors come to Jiaxing to study, work, and start businesses, the city's police are committed to enhancing service models. By offering one-stop services for visas, policy guidance, and community integration, the city is furthering its vision of high-quality and globally connected development.
