A small broken broom, after being transformed by He Wenming, can produce a beautiful melody; a discarded foam board, after being cut by him, has become photographic props highly appreciated by customers. In 2008, He Wenming, a photographer who came to Hangzhou to start a business, in order to integrate unique elements into his photography works and to save cost, started trying to use waste products to make photographic props.

For more than 10 years, He Wenming has been dealing with waste products, and as a person who has loved handwork and art since his childhood, he has a unique born gift for "turn waste into useful material ".

His " utilization of waste " gradually is going towards a trend of diversification. In addition to the props that need to be updated for his daily photography, He Wenming also started trying to make their own musical instruments.

He told the reporter that he was so greatly influenced by the folk band which performed at the countryside wedding or funeral ceremony in his hometown when he was a child that he always loves playing musical instruments. He can play more than 20 instruments including Xiao (a vertical bamboo flute), guitar, flute, cucurbit, and piano. " But buying instruments is really more expensive, you know, so I try to do it myself. Whether the hand-made instrument has sound difference or whether it is perfect, this is not my priority of consideration since happiness is the most important to me."

In his photographic studio, there are more than 10 kinds of musical instruments including pipa, Yueqin, harp and drum which are hand-made by himself.

Recently, He Wenming also tries to produce short videos of "turn waste into useful material" process and spread them to the Internet, " I just want to present some funny and interesting things during the production process to everyone, and at the same time, I also want to spread the green concept of "turn waste into useful materials".
