近段时间，垃圾分类的话题已经延烧至少一个多月。哪种垃圾，究竟该分到哪一类；7月1日上海正式推行垃圾分类；上海已有商家接到罚单……种种消息纷至沓来，面对着势将必行的垃圾分类，不少地方的市民百姓有些“心慌慌”。

China ushered in a new era of compulsory garbage sorting with the harsh domestic garbage management regulations coming into effect in Shanghai on Monday. The garbage sorting undoubtedly has ignited heated discussions online as China is building household garbage processing systems in 46 pilot cities and a further 21.3 billion yuan will be invested in these facilities.

Some violators have already been fined, causing panic to citizens in many cities. However, the residents of Zhejiang stay calm.

金华市金东区六角塘村，这地方的垃圾桶很有意思：每户门前的垃圾桶上，都贴一张二维码。只要扫一下，就可以按照好、中、差3个标准，给这家农户打分。垃圾分类工作做得好的，得“高”分，做得差的，自然是得“差”分。这就叫垃圾分类智能化管理考评系统。

Special trash cans are ubiquitous in Liujiaotang Village of Jinhua, Zhejiang Province. QR-codes are seen on trash cans at the door of every household. Scan the code, the household will be rated according to a three-level rating system: excellent, fair, terrible. Those who do well in garbage sorting will get a high score. This is just one example of the smart management and evaluation system of garbage sorting in Zhejiang.

在台州市仙居县淡竹乡下叶村，凡是入住的游客，都会领到一张“绿色生活清单”。这张单子上，会提到一个奇怪的名词：“绿币”。住宿时参与垃圾分类，可以领取“绿币”2元；退房时把垃圾清理带走，可得5元；就餐时不剩饭剩菜，5元……这些“绿币”，淡竹所有商家通用。

In Xiaye Village, Danzhu Town, Xianju County, all tourists who have checked in a hotel will receive a green life list, on which you can find the term "green coin". Participate in garbage sorting while staying at the hotel, you will receive green coins that worths two yuan; take away the garbage when checking out, you will get green coins worth of five yuan; you will be rewarded with five yuan when finishing all the meals without any leftovers. All these green coins can be used in stores and shops in the village.

去年年底时，有这么一个统计数据：浙江省2.7万个建制村中，生活垃圾集中收集、有效处理已经实现建制村全覆盖，其中41%的建制村，已经实施了生活垃圾分类处理。

According to the statistics released at the end of 2018, among the 27,000 registered villages, centralized collection and effective treatment of household refusals have covered all villages. 41% of the registered villages have implemented garbage sorting and treatment.

16年前，浙江启动了“千村示范、万村整治”工程。下定决心之后，就这么一路走来，披棘前行，走到了垃圾分类。

16 years ago, Zhejiang launched the Green Rural Revival Program. And the province has moved on all the way to garbage sorting.

去年9月26日，中国浙江省“千村示范、万村整治”工程，在纽约曼哈顿问鼎联合国环境规划署“地球卫士奖”，是联合国在环保领域授予的最高荣誉。

On September 26 last year, Zhejiang's Green Rural Revival Program was recognized with a Champions of the Earth Award, the UN's highest environmental honor. 

浙江不少地方的农村居民对于垃圾分类不会慌，都推行这么多年了，相当熟门熟路。

Rural residents around Zhejiang are well acquainted with garbage sorting as they have been practicing on it for years. No wonder the implementation of garbage sorting caused no panic to them at all.

其实，对浙江的城市来说，垃圾分类也不是什么“新理念”。1999年8月起，杭州市环卫部门在上城区向阳新村和锦花苑两居民点开展垃圾处理新的分类试点，要求居民把垃圾分类，分别投入到不同的垃圾桶里。

In fact, for cities of Zhejiang, garbage sorting is not new. Starting from August 1999, the environmental protection departments of Hangzhou launched piloting points of garbage treatment at two residential neighborhoods of Shangcheng District, i.e., Xiangyang New Village and Jinhuayuan. Residents were required to classify the garbage and toss wastes into different trash cans.
