The 8th Zhejiang International Youth Film Festival to open on Sept 20

9月12日，第八届浙江国际青年电影周在杭州召开新闻发布会。发布会上，主办方介绍了电影周的整体安排和特色亮点，并公布了主视觉概念片和活动日程。本届电影周将于9月20日至26日举行。

The 8th Zhejiang International Youth Film Festival will be held in Hangzhou from Sept 20 to 26, according to a press conference on Sept 12. During the event, the main visual trailer and the full program schedule are unveiled.   

电影周以“让青年人成就电影梦想”为主题，汇聚来自中国、英国、美国、澳大利亚、日本、巴西、马来西亚、越南等国家和地区的青年电影人和业界代表，通过开闭幕典礼、展映单元、创投活动、VR单元以及主题论坛等板块，展示青年创意，促进跨文化交流。

This year’s  Film Festival will bring together young filmmakers and industry representatives from China, the UK, the US, Australia, Japan, Brazil, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc. Through its opening and closing ceremonies, screenings, pitching sessions, VR showcases, and thematic forums, the festival aims to celebrate youth creativity while fostering cross-cultural exchange.

恰逢世界电影诞生130周年、中国电影诞生120周年，本届电影周以“青年”为关键词，聚焦中外影人的对话合作，推动电影艺术的多元表达和国际传播。英国担任展映单元的主宾国，日本导演山下敦弘、国际知名导演亚历克斯·普罗亚斯等海外嘉宾也将亮相，与中国青年影人面对面交流。

Coinciding with the 130th anniversary of world cinema and the 120th anniversary of Chinese cinema, the festival emphasizes dialogue and collaboration among young filmmakers worldwide, enriching cinematic expression and enhancing international communication. The UK serves as the guest country of honor for the screening program, with international guests including Japanese director Nobuhiro Yamashita and renowned Australian director Alex Proyas engaging directly with Chinese filmmakers and audiences.

除展映、创投等专业环节外，电影周还将举办电影主题生活展、音乐会、国际对话和青年圆桌等活动，并向公众开放，打造多层次、多维度的国际交流场景。通过光影艺术，青年影人将跨越国界，彼此启发，共同书写电影的青春篇章。

Beyond its professional sections, the Film Festival will host a film-themed lifestyle fair, live music concerts, international dialogues, and youth roundtables—many of which will be open to the public. By creating diverse spaces for exchange, the festival seeks to inspire young filmmakers across borders, uniting them through the shared language of cinema.
