The World Green Tea Contest 2025, organized by the World Green Tea Association, recently took place in Japan, with two teas from Kaihua county in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province receiving top honors.
The Yuxi Kaihua Longding tea, presented by Zhejiang Yuncui Tea Industry Development Company, won a Grand Gold Award, while the Qianjiangyuan Kaimenhong-Yu 8000 tea, presented by Zhejiang Longding Tea Group Company, earned a Gold Award.
Recognized as one of Zhejiang's top 10 teas, Kaihua Longding is celebrated for its straight, elegant appearance, vibrant green color, lasting fragrance, and fresh, mellow flavor. Qianjiangyuan Kaimenhong is a key tea brand developed by Kaihua county.

The competition featured 194 entries from Japan, South Korea, Thailand, China, and China's Taiwan region. After rigorous evaluation, the contest awarded 20 Grand Gold Awards, 42 Gold Awards, one Package Award, one Frontier Award, and one Eco-Product Award.
In recent years, Kaihua county has focused on developing its tea industry, blending ecological practices with traditional craftsmanship. This approach has transformed its tea offerings from singular to diverse and from high-quality to exceptional.
The international accolades are expected to carry the rich flavors and stories of Kaihua tea onto the global stage, displaying the unique charms of Chinese tea culture.
