On July 23, it was announced on a press conference held at the people’s hall of Zhejiang Province that Ningbo has blazed a development path as a port city that is consistent with the characteristics of China, rich in characteristics of the times and Ningbo. It has gone through three historical transformations, namely from a weak economy to a strong economy, a small city of commercial port to a modernized international port city and from poverty to all-round well-being.

Ningbo has promoted the “Belt and Road” construction based on the Central and Eastern European Countries and has held China-CEEC Expo for the fourth time. During the expo, 68 two-way investment projects had been signed with a total investment of 19.4 billion USD, including 57 foreign investment projects and 10 outbound investment projects.

As a piloting city of “Made in China 2025”, Ningbo has become an important base of advanced manufacturing industry, the nationally largest petrochemical industrial base and new materials industrial base, one of the nation’s four major production bases of household appliances and one of the three garment industrial bases.

In Ningbo, private economy has contributed 62% of the city’s tax revenue, 63% of its economic aggregate, 69% of its export and 85% of the jobs.

In recent years, Ningbo has driven the reform in different fields through "At Most One Visit" administrative reform and implemented new policies on science and technology, talents and investment. Bridges such as Hangzhou Bay Sea-crossing Bridge and Xiangshan Port Bridge have been completed, the annual passenger traffic of its airport has exceeded 10 million and its rail transit mileage has reached 92 km etc.
