Negotiations between Zhejiang and foreign enterprises on smart manufacturing investment and cooperation

On the afternoon of June 9, 2019 International Conference on Smart Manufacturing Investment and Cooperation was held in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, which was an important activity during the first China-CEEC Expo & International Consumer Goods Fair. 


Themed “New Opportunities in the New Era-Promoting Pragmatic Cooperation and Upgrading Smart Manufacturing of Zhejiang”, the conference highlighted professionalism, efficiency and pragmatism, served the economic opening up of Zhejiang Province and focused on the development of high-end equipment industry, one of the eight industries with a value of over a trillion yuan.


Representatives of attending enterprises had face-to-face negotiations, which were generally between a Zhejiang enterprise and a foreign enterprise matched professionally.


At the conference, Di Lin, vice president of Gongkong (network) shared the key points of the Report on Investment Promotion of Smart Manufacturing Industry. He pointed out that at present many enterprises are seizing the opportunities for enhancing smart manufacturing and actively investing and developing such areas as smart factories and workshops. 


Such investment has been guided by the market rather than the governments. Various innovation-led investments have been vitalized. A promising future lies ahead for the investment cooperation between China and foreign partners in smart manufacturing.


Around 100 high-level industry representatives from such corporations as Siemens, Bauer Group, General Motor, Honeywell and Mitsubishi Electric and senior executives from business institutions and associations of different countries had a pragmatic exchange with around 50 leading enterprises of Zhejiang Province in smart manufacturing, including Zhejiang Geely Holdings Group Co., Ltd. and Sanhua Holding Group Co., Ltd.


The business representatives from different countries also spoke about how foreign enterprises can boost the smart manufacturing of Zhejiang. Huang Xin, general manager of Belgium Materialise 3D Printing Technology Co., Ltd., said that they could help Zhejiang enterprises with their 29-year-professional experience to search for meaningful applications of 3D printing. So far, breakthroughs have been made in such fields as medical treatment, aviation and aerospace and mold. In the future, it will also be applied in such fields as automobile and automobile accessory.
