  由浙江省文化和旅游厅、浙江省文学艺术界联合会和中国美术学院联合主办,国家艺术基金提供项目资助的“无界之归——2019杭州纤维艺术三年展”于2019年11月26日在浙江美术馆隆重开幕。展览由施慧担任艺术总监,冯博一任主策展人,王晓松、刘钢、黄燕、金泽韻担任联合策展人。

展览主题:无界之归


  展览主题“无界之归”指的是在纤维艺术形而上的、不受边界限制的跨媒介创作,意味着纤维艺术在全球化语境的相互交织的依存中,抽离于难以确定的现实世界的过度纠缠,穿越于不知边界的、持续实验的一种归旨。在结构和场馆分布上,展览由浙江美术馆的主题展“交融的间隔”、“无边的抽离”、“逾界的纠缠”、“第二皮肤”、“工作坊”,中国丝绸博物馆的“物超所值”,以及中国美术学院美术馆的平行展“尹秀珍:七天”,三个展区、七个单元构成。共有来自全球六大洲、18个国家和地区的40位/组艺术家的78件/组作品受邀参展。


展览内容:精彩纷呈    


  本届展览既希望能够反映出全球范围内纤维艺术创作的新动向,又可以把纤维材料、语言上的新变化引入到“纤维艺术”展示和讨论的视野中,所以,那些日常会被认为属于科学研究、材料实验、设计产品等领域的“成果”作为“艺术作品”在展览现场将交织在一起,互为补益、互相激发。展览作品媒介材料繁多,若从常规分类来看,又有装置艺术、声音艺术、光艺术、计算机艺术等类型,以及以现场参与、交互为特征的作品。所针对的具体问题,除了纤维艺术本体上的实验之外,还包括由纤维串联起的全球在地化问题、女性问题、生态危机、消费社会、流行文化以及特定社会人群的社会学介入等,这些丰富性是与受邀参展的艺术家来源的多样性分不开的,这也反映出纤维艺术对当今世界文明状况本能敏感的起源。参展艺术家名单是策展团队经过深入调研,考量艺术家个体价值、作品价值、可操作性和展览有效性后所做出的结果,希望展览在创作方法、艺术价值、现场转换等不同层面上都能在最大程度上得到应有的反馈。

展览研讨:多向链接


  在开幕当天下午及次日全天,在浙江美术馆报告厅召开“线场——纤维艺术的多向链接”学术研讨会。线是纤维最为常见的物化或表达形式,但与“线性”的单向度不同,这次研讨会着眼于对纤维在“非线性”领域扩张力量的挖掘,以及它与这些领域之间在交互中所带来的触及面的扩展。来自现场的15位理论家、科学家、艺术家将就“策展:一种纤维的经验”、 “纤维:作为一种艺术的方法”、“界外:纤维思维的知识来源”三个主题进行主题发言,其所涉及的问题亦将被引入圆桌会议,与到场的各界人士共同讨论“纤维艺术的契机与危机”。

  展览期间,除参展作品实施所必须的工作坊活动之外,我们还将围绕展览在浙江美术馆举行一系列纤维相关的公共教育活动,如纤维&摄影:无界之归影像日工作坊;蜂巢剧场&浙江美术馆杭州纤维艺术三年展:犀牛症候群美术馆浸没计划等



  

Co-sponsored by Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Zhejiang Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and China Academy of Art and also funded by China National Arts Fund, “Boundless Encounters -- 2019 Hangzhou Triennial of Fiber Art” was held on November 26, 2019 in Zhejiang Art Museum. Shi Hui serves as the artistic director of the exhibition and Feng Boyi is the chief curator. Wang Xiaosong, Liu Gang, Huang Yan and Jin Zeyun are the co-curators.

The Theme of the Exhibition: Boundless Encounters

  

The theme of the exhibition “boundless encounters” refers to the metaphysical and borderless cross-media creation of fiber art, which means that fiber art is separated from the excessive entanglement of the uncertain 

real world and traverses the boundary of the continuous experiment in the interwoven interdependence of the context of globalization. In the distribution of venues and its exhibition structure, theme exhibitions in Zhejiang Art Museum “mingled interval”, “boundless disengagement”, “entanglement beyond the boundary”, “the second skin”, “workshop” and “value for price” in China National Silk Museum as well as its collateral events Chinese artist Yin Xiuzhen’s solo exhibition “seven days” in Art Museum of China Academy of Art. A total of 78 pieces / sets of works by 40 (groups of) artists from 18 countries and regions were invited to participate into the triennial.

The Artworks of the Exhibition: Richness and Diversity

  

This triennial is able to reflect the global new trend of fiber art and also can put the fiber material and the new changes of language introduced into the field of “fiber art” demonstration and discussion, so those daily use properties would be considered to belong to the scientific research, material experiment, design products in the areas of “achievement” as “artworks” at the scene of the exhibition will interweave together and mutual benefit. There are various media materials for the exhibition works. In terms of conventional classification, there are installation art, sound art, light art and computer art as well as works characterized by on-site participation and interaction. According to the specific problem, in addition to experiment on the fiber art, it also includes the issues of global localization, femininity, ecological crisis, consumer society, popular culture and sociology involved in specific social groups. The richness and the diversity of the artists invited to the triennial are inseparable which also reflects the fiber art in today’s world civilization in its origin of the sensitive instinct. The list of participating artists is the result made by the curatorial team after in-depth investigation and comprehensive consideration of the individual value of artists, the value of works, operability and the effectiveness of the exhibition. It is hoped that the exhibition can get the corresponding feedback to the greatest extent in the creation method, artistic value, on-site conversion and other aspects.

The Symposium of the Exhibition: The Multi-directional  Link

  

In the afternoon of the ceremony and the next day, it will organize the symposium “Threads Field --- The Multi-directional Link to Fiber Art” in the lecture hall in Zhejiang Art Museum. Thread is the most common materialized expressing form of fiber art, however, it is quite different from the uni-dimensional “linearity”. The symposium pays attention on digging the expansion force of “non-linearity” of fiber and its surficial extension in the interaction between these areas. There are 15 theorists, scientists and artists who will make keynote speeches on the three themes: “curating: a kind of fiber experience”, “fiber: as a kind of artistic means” and “out of bounds: the source of knowledge in the ideas of fiber”. Those involved problems will also be introduced in the round table discussion. The presence of guests in various circles will be in the discussion of “opportunities and crisis of the fiber art”.

  

Public Education Activities of the Exhibition: Fiber Related Activities

  

During the exhibition, we will also hold a series of public education activities around the exhibition in Zhejiang Art Museum as well as workshop activities related to artworks in the triennial. For instances: Fiber & Photography: Boundless Encounters Photography Workshop;  Immersion Project of Rhinoceros in Love&Fiber in Zhejiang Art Museum
