In 2010, German designer Chris and his partner Zhang Lei established a studio in Hangzhou to study Chinese culture and traditional materials and crafts, especially oil-paper umbrellas.

In 2011, they visited Liu Youquan, a cultural inheritor of the Yuhang oil-paper umbrella, to learn techniques for making paper umbrellas. During his learning process, Chris has developed a keen interest in the "wet paste" procedure. After a period of study and research, he boldly proposed to get command of this technique and get to learn more about Chinese culture.

Starting from the actual work and life of German designer Chris, the video shows the charm of Chinese intangible cultural heritage techniques and products, showing the development and change of China in the past ten years. As Chris says, "In the past ten years, people have become more aware of and appreciate their own traditional cultures. Now we have found the perfect place for our libraries, workshops, studios and our home."
