Rural tourism or countryside tourism perfectly suits the trend of world travelers seeking authentic, unique experiences and local lifestyles.

Nowadays, more and more travelers want to experience natural, unspoiled landscapes and stay in authentic accommodation. In the meantime, communities in the countryside often have great resources to offer such experiences. Cultural experiences and interaction with locals are increasingly popular, as well as agritourism and farm stays.

In the Anji County of Zhejiang Province, there is such a small village called Lujia Village that is known for its successful application of family farms with the integration of the local countryside tourism. Surprisingly, a few years ago, in 2011, this tiny village is only a poor village with a collective economic income of only 18,000 yuan and a per capita income of less than 10,000 yuan.

What has happened to this tranquil and small village? During our stay in Lujia Village, we had the chance to interview Ms. Qiu Liqin, the head of the village committee. During the in-depth interview, she shared with us the story behind the success of their village and her attitudes towards what does countryside tourism means to the villagers and rural areas.

Let's watch the video.
