1. Hangzhou is home to 12,222 national high-tech companies

 

Hangzhou in East China's Zhejiang province currently has 10,222 national-level high-tech companies, according to the city's 13th Congress of the Communist Party of China on Feb 23.

 

The number of top 500 private enterprises in the city also has been the highest in China for 19 consecutive years. The total number of listed enterprises has reached 262, ranking fourth among cities in China.

 

2. Hangzhou Asian Games kicks off 200-day countdown celebrations


East China's Hangzhou launched a series of celebrations on Feb 21 to mark the 200-day countdown to the 19th Asian Games, the day after the closing ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games.

 

At the livestream show starting at 15:00 on the Hubin Pedestrian Street, one of the most bustling areas in Hangzhou, the Asian Games released a promotional video for the 200-day countdown, a series of cultural products, a public solicitation of collections for the Hangzhou Asian Games Museum, and various sports shows put on by local residents.

 

3. Winter sports equipment market booms in Yiwu

 

Winter sports equipment recently saw explosive growth in sales in the Yiwu International Trade Market, the world's largest wholesale market for small commodities, which is located in downtown Yiwu, East China's Zhejiang province. The sales were largely boosted by the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, which ran from Feb 4 to Feb 20.

 

Many shops in the Yiwu market have started to add winter sports equipment for sales, such as ice hockey sticks, ice skates, sleighs, and skis since Beijing won its Winter Olympics bid in 2015. Data from Chinagoods, the e-commerce platform for the Yiwu market, shows that keywords related to winter sports have recently been searched more than 100,000 times.

 

4. Zhejiang releases 34 common prosperity pilot projects in the business area


On February 22, the Digital Trade Empowers Common Wealth Development Forum which was hosted by the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province kicked off in Hangzhou. At the forum, a total of 34 pilot projects for common prosperity in the field of commerce was released.

 

As reported, the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province has been committed to promoting the development of high-quality and digital trade, further integrating domestic and foreign trade reform, and other key areas over the past year.
