1. Zhejiang releases nation's first waste-free index

 

Zhejiang authorities released the "waste-free index" at a work conference on the "waste-free cities" campaign on Nov 24. Zhejiang scored 76.17 points in the index.

 

According to an official at the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, the index measures the province's achievements made in the "waste-free cities" campaign. The index takes into account nine indicators such as the intensity of industrial solid waste generation, per capita household garbage amount, and the intensity of construction waste generation.


2.Unified household registration for newborns in YRD region

 

Household registration for newborns across the entire Yangtze River Delta region, which encompasses Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui provinces and Shanghai municipality, was unified starting on Nov 23. This means that a person migrating from one place to another within YRD no longer has to travel back to his or her place of origin to handle the household registration for the newborn.

 

Whenever a married couple of the same ethnicity gives birth to an infant within the YRD region, either party holding a household registration certificate issued by a certain locality in the region can apply to obtain the newborn's household registration certificate issued by the same locality. The application can be accepted by a police department of any locality in the YRD, including the birthplace of the newborn.

 

3.The first international freight route between Wenzhou and Milan opens

 

At about 9 a.m. on Nov 29, an Airbus A330-200 "passenger to cargo" wide-body aircraft of China Eastern Airlines, loaded with 25.8 tons of cargo, flew directly from Wenzhou Longwan International Airport to Milan, Italy, marking the official opening of the international freight route from Wenzhou to Milan, Italy. This is the first international freight route of Wenzhou airport and the only "passenger to cargo" route to Italy in the province.

 

The international cargo flight from Wenzhou to Milan, Italy is planned to fly two flights and four sorties a week. The cargo is mainly exported to 800 boxes of COVID-19 antigen detection reagent produced in China, and other clothing, shoes, stainless steel products and other daily necessities.

 

4. Huzhou is the largest number of campsites city in the Yangtze River Delta

 

Recently, Xiaohongshu camping commune and other platforms jointly selected more than 50 high-quality campsites in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai provinces. Huzhou has 34 campsites, making it the city with the largest number of campsites in the Yangtze River Delta.

 

Huzhou campsites have novel business formats and many contents with a good sense of experience. It can provide a variety of playing methods, including early morning yoga, outdoor barbecue, parent-child games, bonfire party, open-air film, music festival, etc.

 

5. Huzhou-Hangzhou high-speed railway officially named

 

The Huzhou-Hangzhou high-speed railway was officially named and included in the Hefei-Hangzhou high-speed railway network on Nov 23, according to the Shanghai Railway Administration. The railway started construction in September 2019 and is expected to open to traffic before the 19th Asian Games, which will take place in Hangzhou in September 2022.

 

There will be five stations along the route, namely Huzhou Station, Deqing Station, Hangzhou West Station, Fuyang West Station, and Tonglu East Station, among which the latter three are newly-established stations.
