The city walls in China 5,000 years ago could be this wide?!

In 2007, archaeologists discovered nine gates in Liangzhu Ancient City, eight of which were water gates. The only land gate has three piles of soil foundations. The scale of the Liangzhu ancient city walls is enormous. The area enclosed by the walls is about 3 million square meters, and the perimeter of the city walls is about 6 kilometers. 5,000 years ago, the height of these walls was 5 to 7 meters. Through archaeological excavations, they also found that the average width of the ancient walls was 40 to 60 meters. This discovery reflects the strong social organization and mobilization management ability of the Liangzhu society.
