Vlog | 'Vital Force': A Ukrainian's reflection on our era and exploration of the Chinese life philosophy in exhibitions

2022-06-06 13:43:06 source: In Zhejiang

Anna comes from Ukraine. She is now studying at the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music and has been in China for more than 4 years. During this period of time, her hometown Ukraine has become the spotlight of the public sphere, which has made her reflect on the contemporary world and our era amid the changes and uncertainties.

When she is learning the Chinese language, she has heard of a famous educator named Tao Xingzhi, who once proposed the concept of "vital force", or "life is education". In Tao's opinion, no matter what kind of situation we are in, we can face our life with an indomitable spirit and enthusiasm. In an offline art festival called the fourth Zhijiang International Youth Art Festival, Anna got the chance to explore Mr. Tao's education philosophy through those artworks created by more than 4,000 artists and designers throughout Zhejiang Province, where she has a deep understanding of the positive belief of "an upward and forward life", initiated by this art festival.

In Anna's opinion, we all have a different understanding of our life. As far as she is concerned, life, like the theme of this festival "vital force", is a variety of experiences and abilities that a person should have to live. It is a realistic understanding of life and involves practical skills. It contains compassionate concern for the vitality of the world as well as the joys and sorrows of ordinary people, and also contains deep empathy for others and our life.
