As an important part of the Hangzhou Asian Games,the design of the sports pictograms has been of great interest.After months of work by Professor Yuan Yumin's team,61 pictograms are now officially adopted.

The design of the sports pictograms is a continuation of the visual presentation of the emblemthat the fan-shaped line element has been retained,and the core element of the emblem," Tides Surging", is also kept.The combination of the "momentum + standard module" and the double outline technique make the pictograms dynamic and powerful.

When linking all the pictograms together, it incorporates the historical element of the "Qu Shui Liu Shang" (Drink water from a winding canal with one wine cup floating on it so as to wash away ominousness)of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. The curved lines of the stream makes each individual pictogram come to life while conveying the Asian Games concept of gathering.

These pictograms blend history and culture with modern aesthetics. They showcase the long history of Chinese culture They also demonstrate the passion of the nation and the power of sports. They are unique in the design of Asian Games sports pictograms.
