Curator workshop on the Qinghai Route of Silk Roads wraps up in Qinghai Provincial Museum

From July 14 to 15, 2022, a curator workshop with the theme of the Qinghai Route of Silk Roads, co-organized by the China National Silk Museum and Qinghai Provincial Museum, was held at Qinghai Provincial Museum. This workshop consists of three sections: archaeological excavation, historical research and exhibition planning.

The first section of the workshop was themed on the archaeological excavation of the Qinghai Route on the Silk Roads, involving four experts from archaeological institutes from all over the world to share the latest excavation results obtained in Wulan Quangou Tomb, Dulan Wayan Reservoir, and Tuyuhun Royal tombs in Gansu province, which has provided valuable references for future curatorial exhibitions on the Qinghai Route.


The second section focuses on the history of the Qinghai Route, inviting experts to share the latest historical research and research results from their own research fields, so as to provide solid academic support for the future curatorial exhibition of the Qinghai Route.


The third section focused on the Qinghai Route themed exhibition of this year's Silk Road Week, inviting experts to share their curatorial experience, deconstruct themed exhibitions and activities from the aspects of curation, exhibition, activities and cultural background and put forward suggestions for the curatorial direction of future Silk Road themed exhibitions.

Zhao Feng, director of the China National Silk Museum gave a summary of the current scenario of the Silk Road themed exhibitions across the globe, with a focus on themed exhibitions, academic workshops, and seminars as well as the academic exchanges since the Silk Roads was unveiled in 2020, which has offered key insights about the origins and social influence of the Silk Roads.
