"I didn't feel tired at all. It was an incomparable experience." Iurii, an anchor from Ukraine, said after enjoying a dragon boat ride a few days before Dragon Boat Festival.

Iurii is a PhD in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Three years ago, he joined a smart device company in Wenzhou as a senior researcher through the city's "Overseas Elite Introduction Program". Iurii came to Wenzhou with his wife and children. He said that during his three years in Wenzhou, he and his family have experienced the increasing convenience of transportation, education and life, all of which are the reasons they fell in love with Wenzhou and chose to live here.

As for the dragon boat, Iurii said that when taking his child for a walk along the Nantang River, he often saw dragon boats paddling by, which aroused his curiosity and interest. This time, as a foreign anchor of Wenzhou Overseas Media Center, he experienced rowing the dragon boat which left an unforgettable experience on him. In the future, working with the film crew of Wenzhou Overseas Media Center, Iurii will present more goodness of Wenzhou to everyone from his own perspective.

As one of the four traditional festivals in China, the Dragon Boat Festival is characterized by 2 main customs: rowing dragon boats and eating Zongzi. In September 2009, approved by UNESCO (The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), it was officially listed in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, becoming the first Chinese festival to be listed in the world intangible cultural heritage. As a traditional folk cultural activity of the Dragon Boat Festival, dragon boat rowing has a history of more than 900 years in Wenzhou.
