On the evening of July 29, Brett Lyndall Singh from South Africa, Kimberly from the United States and Wenzhou folklore expert Zhu Ming promoted Wenzhou’s traditional culture to the people at home and abroad by using the live-streaming technology at the "Meeting· Wuma" live-streaming studio based in the central square of the Wuma Historical and Cultural District, Lucheng District, Wenzhou City.
This activity is organized by The Wenzhou Overseas Media Center (The International Communication & Social Media Influencer Center of Wenzhou City), who has innovatively combined traditional webcasting and 5G VR video-shooting technology for the first time.
According to the organizer of this event, this is the third large-scale live-streaming event launched by the International Communication & Social Media Influencer Center of Wenzhou City since it was established half a month ago. The event was broadcast to the whole world under the name of its video column "Young朋友in温州".
Foreign anchor Brett said that the longer he has stayed in China, the better he could understand the breadth and depth of Chinese excellent traditional culture. Wenzhou has too many delicious foods and interesting folk customs fascinating him. "This is a warm city," Brett said.
Within an hour of the live-streaming, nearly 200,000 netizens from all over the world watched the live-streaming video and praised Wenzhou in various languages.
During the live broadcast, folk custom expert Zhu Ming also introduced in detail the historical allusions and folk customs of Wuma Street.
"This old street carries the cultural memories of many Wenzhou people. Meanwhile, it’s also full of vigorous commercial atmosphere. Wuweihe, Jinsanyi, and Laoxiangshan are all century-old shops."
After the overall planning, today's historical districts are becoming more and more fashionable. Through the live-streaming, a vibrant Wenzhou is showing himself to the whole world.
