Located in the southeastern coastal area of China, Zhejiang is a dazzling pearl strewn in the southern wing of the Yangtze River Delta and neighbors Shanghai - China’s number one mega-city. Zhejiang is bestowed with a sprawling sea area (including 101.8 thousand square kilometers of land area and 260 thousand square kilometers of sea area) and is one of the country’s most densely-populated provinces (with 58.50 million permanent inhabitants). It has long been reputed for its opulence and is dubbed "a land of fish and rice, silk and cultural treasures". It is also one of China’s most splendid tourist destinations. 

Zhejiang is one of the main birthplaces of Chinese civilization. It has fertile plains to the north, rolling hills to the west, mountains to the south, and the sea to the east where hundreds of miles of rivers meet.  Zhejiang is praised as a place famous for its beautiful landscapes. When people describe Zhejiang, they often compare it to poems and paintings, which are the two most ancient art forms of China, as its landscapes are as lively and brisk as the creatures and culture it fostered. The artistic idea created is poetic and picturesque, seemingly still and subdued, yet vibrant and vivid.

During the event “A Show to the World: Picturesque Zhejiang—Exhibition Week of Dynamic Zhejiang Culture and Tourism”, the beauty of Zhejiang's nature, culture, and creation is demonstrated by means of artistic exhibitions, dynamic performance, and integration of technology and art. The beauty and warmth contained in these golden cards as passed on to all the audience. At the exhibition, visitors from all over the world will feel the poetic and picturesque splendor of Zhejiang, hear the melody of mountains and streams, see various aspects of Zhejiang and observe Zhejiang from global perspectives.
