On September 11, the 19th Asian Games torch relay was held in Shaoxing.


Early in the morning, many citizens gathered near Lu Xun's former residence, waiting to watch the torch relay. There were also people waving the Chinese national flag and the Olympic Council of Asia flag.

At about 09:15, the torch was passed by the first torchbearer Yu Juemin, who was the head coach of the Shaoxing Volleyball Team.

Starting from Lu Xun's former residence to the Olympic Sports Center, the 9.7 kilometers route was carried by 170 torchbearers. The youngest torchbearer is 15 years old and the oldest is 79 years old. Among them are representatives of outstanding athletes, coaches and other sports workers, as well as workers from the grassroots.

As the co-hosting city with the most events for this Asian Games, Shaoxing will host five sporting events including basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, and rock climbing, and provide a football training base. There are 8 Asian Games gold medals to be won in Shaoxing.
