“China's green development is amazing,” said Patrick Nijs, the 75-year-old former Belgian ambassador to China, in an interview with ZICC. After retiring, the veteran diplomat chose to settle in China and devote himself fully to environmental protection. Since 2022, he has carried out field research in Anji and Moganshan in Huzhou, Zhejiang, examining how the vision of “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets” is being put into practice.
