On the morning of October 21, the Grand Canal Cultural Belt Beijing Hangzhou Dialogue kicked off in the capital city of Zhejiang Province -  Hangzhou, with the theme of "The Age-old Grand Canal Taking Us To Common Prosperity". Mo Gaoyi, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Minister of the Communication Department, Zhu Guoxian, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Minister of the Communication Department, Chen Junjun, President of the China News Service, and Liu Xin, deputy secretary of the CPC Hangzhou Municipal Committee and mayor of Hangzhou city, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

On the main forum, experts with multidisciplinary backgrounds shared their views on the construction of the China Grand Canal Cultural Belt and Grand Canal National Cultural Park, and also proposed suggestions for protecting and preserving the cultural legacies of the Grand Canal.

The event will last for three days and will encompass a series of activities, which are to be presented in the form of "1+n". That is, an opening ceremony with the main forum and a few affiliated activities, during which achievements co-created by governments and social organizations will be launched. In addition, the event will also include a few salons for experts to communicate ideas, together with other cultural promotional activities.
