What are non-resident individuals?

Non-resident individuals refer to individuals who have neither domicile nor residence within the territory of China, or who have no domicile and have resided within the territory of China for less than 183 days in a tax year. Non-resident individuals shall pay individual income tax for any income sourced within the territory of China according to the provisions of Individual Income Tax Law of the People's Republic of China.
