Wenzhou Medical University joins hands with Chonnam National University to offer Ph. D program

Recently, the Ph.D. program in Pharmacy, jointly offered by Wenzhou Medical University (WMU) and Chonnam National University (CNU), was approved by the Ministry of Education and became the first Chinese-foreign joint doctoral program in pharmacy. The program will start its annual enrollment of 20 students this spring.


Reportedly, through the program that relies on the academic strengths and advantages of WMU’s pharmacy discipline and its experience in international education as well as the introduction of the advanced concepts and high-quality resources of Chonnam National University, the two universities are to jointly nurture high-quality and innovative talents in pharmacy that can adapt to the internationalization of China’s pharmaceutical industry and the rapid development of its national health industry. 


The program adopts the “3+0” training mode, which means students are nurtured for three years on WMU campus by excellent teachers and research advisers sent by WMU and CNU according to a jointly developed training plan. Students who meet the requirements of the training plan will be granted PhD in Pharmacy certificates from Chonnam National University.
