A German businessman recently received a comprehensive international travel health check in just over an hour at the Fourth Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine in Yiwu — a county-level city in Jinhua, Zhejiang province.

The service included basic health tests like routine blood tests and electrocardiograms, as well as personalized assessments on potential travel-related health risks. The whole process was supported by English-speaking volunteers and a detailed medical report in English was provided after the examination.

As the visa-free transit policy continues to drive inbound tourism, foreign arrivals in Yiwu surged 19.6 percent year-on-year to 299,000 in the first half.

Beyond streamlined entry procedures and the refund-upon-purchase policy, Yiwu has launched personalized services.

"Many foreigners here have strong needs for health examination while traveling or sourcing goods," said Xu Weina, director of the international healthcare center at the hospital.

The hospital now offers three health check packages that target acute diseases, chronic disease risks, and travel health risks tailored for patients.

It also provides online booking services in English and free onsite multilingual volunteer and consultation services.

Additionally, partnerships with 22 global medical insurance providers enable direct billing and cashless payment, easing cross-border reimbursement for international patients.
