Chen Xudong, chairman and general manager of IBM Greater China, discussed IBM's deep involvement in the World Internet Conference (WIC) since 2014 and its commitment to leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) for the betterment of society and businesses.


Chen highlighted the transformative power of AI in its 67 years of development as well as ethical issues arising from it. He emphasized that the pace of technological progress is unstoppable and the world should embrace AI's potential rather than avoid it.


Furthermore, he explained how IBM is supporting enterprises in their AI journey through Watson X, a comprehensive system that covers a whole set of programs from data mining to compliance management.


Looking to the future, Chen expressed his hope that the WIC will put wings on AI development both in China and around the world to make it fly higher.
