On the morning of 22 September, the Chinese Sports Delegation announced that swimmer Qin Haiyang and basketball player Yang Liwei will be the flag bearers of the Chinese Sports Delegation at the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games.

Yang Liwei, born in 1995, is the captain of the Chinese women's basketball team. She won the championship with her teammates at this year's Asian Cup.

Qin Haiyang, born in 1999, won four gold medals at this year's Swimming World Championships, including three gold medals in breaststroke and broke one world record.
