At first glance, this is an ordinary canteen. However, this canteen boasts its intelligent side. A smart screen on the wall displays nutritional and price information for each dish. And on the buffet table, all kinds of dishes are placed in small bowls equipped with smart chips. After choosing dishes, the elders only need to place the plates in a fixed induction area to automatically complete the real-time payment.

In addition, the scene in the kitchen of this canteen is more interesting. The stoves cannot be found and the cook turns out to be an intelligent machine. 

“This is production equipment of an intelligent kitchen. You only need to put the ingredients of dishes with a good ratio into the machine and select the mode to carry out the whole intelligent processing of dishes.” According to Chen Yin, the head of the canteen, the machine can steam, boil, and bake food. So far, more than 1,000 kinds of dishes have been developed.

Then, what about the taste of the food made by the machine? Ying Meiyue, a regular of this canteen, said: “the food here is quite to my taste, and I think machine-made food is as delicious as man-made food.” It is learned that machine-made dishes are not only excellent in color, aroma, and taste but also contain less oil and salt, which is more in line with the needs of the elderly for a healthy diet.

According to Jiang Lixin, a staff member of the social affairs office of Changshuo Street, as the first digital canteen designed for the elderly in Huzhou, this canteen can cater food for 1,000 elderly people every day. At present, the canteen is mainly open to the elderly, and corresponding subsidies are given to them according to different ages, providing great convenience for the elderly to eat.
