Shared electric bicycles have served over 922,000 people

Ms. Zhao is a customer service manager of the shared electric bicycle company. Since the opreation of shared bikes started in Anji, her life and travel style have changed completely. As an employee of the shared electric bicycle company,  riding bicycle is both a commuting and a working need for Ms.Zhao. "Employees in our company ride e-bikes every day to check if there are any problems with the bikes and what can be improved." She said.

Ms. Zhao has seen the changes brought by the entry of shared e-bikes into Anji. "The biggest change is that it has eased the traffic pressure. For those who need to travel for short distances, they will choose to ride as long as there is a shared e-bike nearby. The most obvious thing is that it used to take half an hour to wait for a parking space in Jiuzhou at night, but now it's much faster." She said.

In the Anji branch of Shanghai Junzheng Network Technology Co., Ltd, the reporter met with Yang Bin, the company's regional manager. Yang listed the achievements of shared e-bikes with a series of data: from January to August 31, 3,000 shared e-bikes have been put in Anji, covering 390 parking points, with a total of 922,000 service trips, 1,839,700 orders, 13,400 rides per day on average. And the highest number of rides in a single day reached 19,030, with a cumulative distance of 3.09 million kilometers, and a cumulative reduction of 164.4 tons of carbon emissions, equivalent to the amount of carbon absorbed by 7,900 trees.

"The company has different departments such as dispatching, inspection, power exchange, warehouse management, maintenance and customer service, which can provide better services for the public." Yang said that shared electric bikes are quite popular with the public and there is a high call for more parking points. Next, the company will strengthen the cooperation with local streets to increase the number of sites and help the city's development of green travel.

The number of new energy vehicles has reached 5,881

Every day, Mr. Weng, a ride-hailing driver, drives a Geely new energy car through the streets and alleys of Anji. He told the reporter that the car was newly bought for the ride-hailing business in March this year. "Charging is cheaper, it costs only about 15 yuan to charge once and can run for a day, while refueling costs several hundred." Mr. Weng said.

At present, many of the new energy vehicles on the market use electricity as the power source, which is cheaper and more environmental friendly than fuel. Mr. Weng said that he used to drive ride-hailing cars only in his spare time. But in this year, he has turned into a full-time driver. He also specifically applied for the operating license, ride-hailing driver license, and purchased operating insurance for it. It can be said that the popularity of new energy vehicles has completely changed his life.

Because of the optimism about the advantages of new energy vehicles in the field of environmental protection, Anji's buses and taxis have ushered in "green upgrades". Anji has achieved full coverage of pure electric buses in 2019 and the number of pure electric buses in Anji has reached 338. Since March this year, Anji has launched the reform of taxi electrification, aiming to help achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality through green public transport travel. By the end of July, all 208 fuel taxis in the county have been replaced with new energy vehicles, and the electrification rate has achieved 100%.

Mr. Wang, a taxi driver, is extraordinarily satisfied with his new car. "Now the fuel prices are high. The cost has been reduced after switching to new energy vehicles, and passengers feel more comfortable in the new cars." Mr. Wang said. The average driving cost of pure electric taxis is 0.2 yuan per kilometer, which is two-thirds lower than the cost of the original fuel model. It not only reduces carbon emissions, but also enhances the driver's income.

According to the traffic police officer, Guan Hongxin, there are 70 to 80 people that come to the DMV to license their cars every day, of which 20 to 30 are for new energy vehicles. "Now there are more and more people who comes to license new energy cars, while last year there were only single digits every day." And she said that the number of new energy vehicles licensed last year was 1,500, and the number of new ennergy car is 3,395 in 2021. In this year, there are 2,486 new energy cars have been licensed so far, and the number of new energy vehicles in the county has reached 5,881.
