In recent days, temperatures have zoomed up in Hangzhou, and tea trees in the West Lake Longjing Tea Garden have sprouted. Recently, several tea-pickers from Hangzhou Crest Tea Industry Co., LTD., have started to pick the first batch of tea leaves of this year.

"At present, we started to pick the variety called Longjing No.43," said Hu Fei, general manager of Crest Tea Industry. "And judging from the current situation, other varieties will be picked in a few days. It is expected that Longjing tea will come into the market in large quantities in 20 days."

The quality of West Lake Longjing tea in this year should be better than previous years, Hu predicted. "The low temperature and slow growth of tea trees lead to a long growth cycle of tea trees, and rich nutrients in tea leaves. Several snowfalls in this year also help to kill pests." "Hu said.
