The fifth session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC), China's national legislature, started its second plenary meeting Tuesday.

Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders attended the meeting at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Li Zhanshu, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, delivered a work report of the NPC Standing Committee to the meeting.

Here are the highlights:

- China will prepare legal tools for conflicts in international relations, and be ready to use legal means to stand up for the country in the international arena

- China will formulate a food security law in 2022

- China will formulate a law on the protection of the Yellow River

- China will formulate laws on tariffs and other taxes in 2022

- China will formulate a law on the ecological conservation on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in 2022

- China will formulate a law on energy

- China will formulate a public health emergency response law in 2022

- China will formulate a law on telecom and online fraud in 2022
