Recently, Zhejiang Government released the Statistical Bulletin of National Economic and Social Development of Zhejiang Province in 2021.

Wu Shengfeng, the director of the Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Statistics, interpreted the bulletin and announced ten highlights of the Zhejiang economy in 2021 on March 1.

"The latest bulletin comprehensively shows that Zhejiang people have continuously opened up a new realm of walking in the forefront and leading the trend, and have realized a good start of the 14th Five-year Plan," Wu said.

The top ten highlights of the Zhejiang economy in 2021 are listed below:

1. Zhejiang province's GDP exceeded 7 trillion yuan (1.14 trillion dollars).

2. With industrial revenue exceeding 10 trillion yuan, Zhejiang province is at a new starting point for quality development.

3. Private economy, the especially individual economy develops rapidly.

4. The digital economy has maintained rapid development and Zhejiang province became the first province to implement market-oriented reform of data factors.

5. Zhejiang province's R&D spending exceeded 200 billion yuan for the first time, ushering in a new stage of innovation-driven development.

6. Trade in goods amounted to exceeded 4 trillion yuan, highlighting the advantages of opening-up.

7. Employment incentive policies have become more effective, and the entrepreneurial base has become more stable.

8. Investment in the manufacturing industry increased by nearly 20%, laying a more solid foundation for modernization.

9. Network consumption accounting for more than half of the total household consumption due to the convenience of consumption.

10. Zhejiang province's resident income has ranked first among all the provinces, and the urban-rural income gap continued to narrow.
