In cooperation with Chinese embassies and consulates as well as the China Cultural Center affiliates in dozens of countries including Colombia, Germany, the United States, and Mexico, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism recently broadcasted a series of multi-language art programs to celebrate the Lunar Chinese New Year, with millions of people around the globe tuning in.

The art programs include symphonies, folk music, dances, acrobatics, magic shows, and traditional operas, all of which are performed by Zhejiang-based troupes.

They are being broadcast on overseas television channels as well as official websites and social media accounts of the aforementioned Chinese institutes.

The entire exhibition season will run from Jan 27 to Feb 28. The symphony Liang Zhu, presented by the Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra, was played on a Bogota TV channel in Colombia on the night of Feb 1, impressing local audiences with its salute to the Neolithic civilization of Liangzhu, which was discovered in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang.

The symphony was also played on Mexican TV channels on Feb 14, as part of cultural exchange in celebration of the 50-year anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mexico.
