Hangzhou residents' life expectancy reaches 83.12 years

The healthy lifestyle campaign that Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, has been carrying out since 2008 has increased residents' life expectancy to an average of 83.12, local media reported on Jan 10.


"Residents in a health city are inclined not to fall ill and fall ill less frequently. We take everyone into consideration when formulating policies," said top officials of the Hangzhou healthcare commission.


The city has been leveraging digital technology and big data to provide health monitoring and evaluation services, according to the commission.


By November 2021, Hangzhou had registered 745 baby nursing institutes and 644 baby care rooms. The city also established 25 county-level healthcare service units, each of which consists of municipal hospitals and community healthcare centers.
