On the morning of September 10th, a train carrying 100 standard boxes set off from Jinhua South Station and headed off towards Baku, Azerbaijan, marking the successful start of the Jinhua-Baku China-Europe Train. So far, the total number of operation lines from Jinhua to Europe has increased to 12.

This train mainly carries hardware tools and daily necessities. It is estimated that the journey takes about 15 to 18 days, which is about 1/3 less than the time of joint sea-and-rail transportation.

Azerbaijan is located on the border between Asia and Europe. It is the "crossroads" where the "heart" of the Eurasian continent meets the east-west north-south transportation corridor, connecting the vast region of Central Asia with Europe, the Middle East, and Russia. Due to its superior geographical location and traffic conditions, Azerbaijan has become an important passage on the Silk Road, connecting the ancient trade networks of the East, Europe, and the United States.

The official operation of the Jinhua-Baku China-Europe freight train line has opened up another land trade channel from the Yangtze River Delta region to Europe, which will effectively drive the economic and trade exchanges between China and the Middle East and Europe and surely will become a new engine for the development of Zhejiang's export-oriented economy.

Since the beginning of this year, under the grim situation of the global COVID-19 epidemic, the railway sector has closely met the needs of foreign trade enterprises, carefully organized the supply of goods, and ensured the full shipment. As of September 10, the Jinhua China-Europe freight train (including central Asia) has run 210 trains and delivered 17,286 TEU. In August, 54 columns were opened and 4710 TEUs were delivered with an increase of 585% month-on-month.
