Preparations for the opening of the ZJU-Hangzhou Global Scientific and Technological Innovation Center (HIC) are currently progressing in an orderly manner. Zhejiang University’s Micro-Nano Electronics College has moved into the center.

HIC is jointly established by Zhejiang University and Hangzhou government. HIC’s mission is to build an open and integrated international innovation hub that integrates the material sciences, information sciences, and life sciences in the Yangtze River Delta region.

Zhejiang University's Micro-Nano Electronics College was built on the foundation of the School of Microelectronics, focusing on cultivating innovative, engineering, composite and leading talents in the integrated circuit industry. After moving into HIC, it will integrate front-end talent training and back-end industrialization experiments, so that laboratories and industries can seamlessly connect in the same park.

"HIC is not only a new university campus but also an open science and technology park. It is also a special zone for scientific and technological innovation," a HIC official said, "We should give full play to the advantages of new research and development institutions to attract a group of scientists, entrepreneurs, and investors, and build an optimal ecological community full of innovative talents."
