The vehicle drove into the full-automatic battery change operation platform, and the two manipulators accurately opened the battery box door, unloaded the four battery boxes, and put in two with full capacity. 3 minutes later, Zhang Liang paid 120 yuan for battery change service and drove off the charging station.

"Different from the traditional charging mode of new energy vehicles, our consumers only need to buy a ‘naked car’, and the shared and rental batteries can greatly reduce the purchase cost of new energy vehicles," said Lu Yiqing, chairman of Dongruime.

This mode of "car-battery separation, battery box-using charging" takes a short time for changing, increases the service life of batteries, and has higher safety. Meanwhile, standard sizes of batteries are adopted to realize sharing among different cars manufactured by different enterprises.

"There are 30,000 new energy vehicles using our service nationwide, including more than 6,000 in Zhejiang." Lu Yiqing said that the company has built about 60 large, medium, and small charging stations in 12 cities such as Hangzhou, Suzhou, Quanzhou, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen since its layout in 2019, which has provided more than 8.5 million times of battery changes.
