1. The reopening regulations of South Africa's domestic flights have been issued with only four airports will be reopened on June 1


Domestic flights in South Africa will get back on track from Monday, June 1. In the same time, however, operation will be strictly restricted. According to the latest three-level traffic regulations announced on Saturday morning. During this period, only four airports will be open to passengers: Tambo International Airport and Lanseria airport in hannesburg; Cape Town International Airport; Shahka King International Airport on the outskirts of Durban.

2. Mayor of Ekuruleni had tested negative to coronavirus after visiting the food bank


A statement from the office of mayor Mzwandile Masina in Ekuruleni argued that he had been examined despite no symptoms.


Mzwandile Masina visited a food bank in Ekuruleni, where he donated food bank with various stakeholders, including political parties, non-profit organizations, dormitory residents, faith-based organizations, art and culture associations, and more than 105 business people and community members.

3. Rescue fund for COVID-19 in South Africa increased to 200 million Rand


South Africa's sports, arts and culture minister Nathi Mthethwa said on Saturday that the Ministry of Health's COVID-19 disaster relief fund had increased to 200 million rand after receiving donations from provincial MECs.


Mthethwa announced the news at a press conference and elaborated on how the three-level blockade rules would affect the country's sports.


4. COVID-19: South African Minister of Labor--employees are allowed to not return to work if they feel unsafe


Thulas nxesi, the Minister of Employment and Labor, said employees have the right to refuse to return to work next month if they have "reasonable grounds" to doubt that their employers have taken the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace.


5. More than 400 old people fell into panic since retired village employees in Haodeng province was positive for Covid-19  


Last week, an elderly woman living in the retirement village of Bougainville, Tswana, died of COVID-19, stirring furious blame.


The facility's managers allegedly concealed a positive COVID-19 test from a catering service staff on Saturday and didn't notify residents until Sunday after their relatives sent a large number of emails for fear of their relatives' safety.

6. Dare you let the children return to school? Four school staff in Western Cape were positive for covid-19


Earlier this month, the Provincial Department of Education had distributed cleaning materials to help staff prepare for the school's phased resumption on June 1.


However, it is reported that some schools have not received these materials and personal protective equipment (PPE).


Bronagh Hammond from the Education Department of Western Cape confirmed that three cases of covid-19 were reported by Metro North District in the Northern District of the city, and one case was reported by Metro East.

7. Minister of Health: COVID-19 virus detection kit in South Africa is in urgent need


South Africa's Health minister, Dr. Zvili Mkaz, said the number of coronavirus tests reported in South Africa had declined significantly in the past 24 hours due to a global shortage of testing tools.


Mkaz told the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) on Tuesday (May 26) that about 12,000 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours. However, he pointed out that over the previous two days, more than 20,000 trials had been conducted every day.


He said, “The decline here is due to a world shortage of supplies (inspection kits). As various suppliers can not meet our requirements, we are now facing difficulties.”
