On May 28th, the Hangzhou Academician Expert Center held an inauguration ceremony, which was established by the Hangzhou Science and Technology Association. Pan Yunhe, Li Lanjuan, the academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Chen Guomei, vice mayor of Hangzhou, unveiled for the academician expert center. 

Luminaries like Dong Shilin and Gong Xiaonan, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Yang Shufeng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Feng Changgen, an academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences and the British Academy of Engineering, also attended the ceremony.

Why is it necessary to establish the center in Hangzhou? 

"The main purpose of establishing the Hangzhou Academician Expert Center is to strengthen exchanges between Hangzhou and the key scientific research institutions as well as the scientific and technological associations at home and abroad. Meanwhile, consulting services will be provided for various policies, economic and social development in Hangzhou, attracting high-level domestic and overseas talents," said Yang Huan, member of the Hangzhou Science and Technology Association Party Committee and vice-chairman.

In recent years, Hangzhou has been aiming at "creating an optimal city for talent and gathering people of excellence to jointly build Hangzhou", implementing a number of major talent initiatives such as "Article 37 of Talent Ecology".

The establishment of the Hangzhou Academician Expert Center demonstrates that new steps have been taken in the introduction of high-level talents and the promotion of industry-academia research cooperation.

It is reported that the Hangzhou Academician Expert Center will build "five major centers", namely, communication and contact center, innovation and wisdom center, decision-making consulting center, style display center, and event service center.

"The center will organize and carry out major decision-making consulting services. The construction of scientific and technological advisory groups, scientific and technological wisdom library are also available." Yang Huan introduced.

At the same time, 1,037 academicians and experts have participated in the "Thousand Experts into Thousand Enterprises" activity for nearly two months and will continue to solve problems for enterprises in the future.
