The recruitment of volunteers for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games and the Hangzhou Asian Para Games has always been the focus of attention. The latest news shows that the recruitment is planned to take place in the summer vacation of 2021.

When will the recruitment take place? How to sign up?

According to the recruitment director of the Volunteer Department of Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee, it is planned to recruit volunteers for the games from the universities and the society in the summer vacation of 2021.

Volunteers for the Hangzhou Asian Games and the Hangzhou Asian Para Games will be enrolled at the same time.

The online registration channel like the official website of Hangzhou Asian Games, official WeChat, and official Sino Weibo will be available for the sign-up.

After the registration, the selection will be conducted.

What do volunteers do?

Competitive volunteers refer to those who are employed by the Volunteer Department of the Organizing Committee of the 19th Asian Games in 2022 and are voluntary to provide free volunteer services for the Hangzhou Asian Games and the Hangzhou Asian Para Games. With the guidance of the staff, volunteers are supposed to participate in the operation work of the games at the designated time, place, and service post.

What is required for volunteering?

To be a qualified volunteer for the games, one must first comply with the Chinese laws and regulations. The volunteer services for the Asian Games and the Asian Para Games should only be voluntary, and the work guidance as well as the management of the Volunteer Department of the Asian Organizing Committee is to be accepted.

Second, volunteers must be at least 18 years old before September 1, 2022.

Third, it is necessary to keep the volunteer services consistent with the schedule of the Asian Games and Asian Para Games. Volunteers are required to participate in various training and related activities (those will be launched successively half a year before the games) to gain the basic knowledge and skills for the volunteer services.

Fourth, health fitness is a must for carrying out voluntary service. Meanwhile, proficient communication by Chinese or English will be expected.

The priority in the selection and validation process will be given to those who: have experience in volunteer works and are able to serve for the Asian Games, the Asian Para Games, and test events at the same time; have certain professional knowledge and skills (including but not limited to: interpretation, translation, minority language listening, and speaking, medical services, information technology support); other specialized skills that are conducive to promoting the preparation and operation of the Asian Games and the Asian Para Games.
