A trial multi-lingual guideline of using serving chopsticks and spoons in Ningbo released《宁波市公筷公勺使用导则》(试行)多语版译文发布

On April 8, in order to block the spread of the virus, and advocate a healthy, environment-friendly, and civilized dining customary, which to ensure the public’s health, Ningbo released the "Guidelines for the Use of Serving Chopsticks and Spoons in Ningbo" (Trial). At the same time, teachers and students from the International School of Ningbo Polytechnic translated it into seven languages including English, Japanese, Korean, German, Spanish, Arabic, and French in a form of bilingual text voluntarily. Those versions were adopted by Ningbo Civilization Office. It will be published and distributed to successively to restaurants, enterprises, and institutions in Ningbo.

 

The translate Team from Ningbo Polytechnic voluntarily provides the translation service. A team with more than 10 people only used 2 days to finished all the translation and proofreading.

 

Three students, Shadi, Anne, and Prince, who participated in the translation of Arabic and French versions of the "Guidelines", got busy at the expense of the lunch break after receiving the mission. With the help of the instructor and Chinese they learned at the Ningbo Polytechnic,  they finished the translation of those two foreign language versions effectively. Anne from Benin said: "I am honored to join the volunteer team of translators and students of the International College. While improving my Chinese level, I can contribute to the government's prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic as an international student. The most impressive thing is how the Chinese government joined together to build a better earth as a part of the whole world. I am very grateful to my school and Ningbo Municipal Government for their care for foreigners. We are together in fighting against the epidemic. "


为阻断病毒传播途径,大力倡导健康、绿色、文明的用餐新风,保障人民群众的饮食安全,4月8日,宁波发布了《宁波市公筷公勺使用导则》(试行)。与此同时,由宁波职业技术学院国际学院多语种翻译师生志愿服务团队对照翻译的英语、日语、韩语、德语、西班牙语、阿拉伯语、法语等七种语言译文被宁波市文明办采纳,将陆续向全市各类餐饮机构、企事业单位印发。

 

这次翻译宁波市公筷公勺使用导则是该校国际学院多语种翻译师生志愿服务团队的自发行为。十几位多语种师生组成的翻译团队仅仅用了两天的时间,顺利地完成了宁波市公筷公勺导则七种语言的译本翻译和校对工作。

 

参与“导则”阿拉伯语和法语翻译工作的留学生沙第、安妮和王子等三位同学,接到任务后牺牲午休的时间忙碌了起来,在指导老师的帮助下,借助在宁职院所学的中文知识,熟练地将汉语翻译成母语,很快地完成了阿拉伯语和法语的译本。来自贝宁的安妮同学感慨地说道:“我很荣幸能加入到国际学院翻译师生志愿团队。在提升自身汉语水平的同时,能为政府抗击疫情工作贡献来自留学生群体的一份绵薄之力,我感到非常的荣幸。给我印象最深刻的是,中国政府在推动构建人类命运共同体工作中的作为和担当。非常感谢学校和宁波市政府对外籍人士的关怀和照顾。抗击疫情的路上,我们一起同行。”
