Wu Xiaoyi, a young lady in Hangzhou, wrote "New York, the US" in the receiving address and "300 surgical masks" in the shipment items. After finishing packing, she and other couriers felt relieved. This batch of masks sent from Japan to China would begin their new journey.

The 300 masks were circulated among Japan, China, and the United States. The story behind them is so moving.

Hangzhou is more than 12,000 kilometers away from New York with a 12-hour time difference. The recipient of the masks is a Chinese international student in the United States, a 22-year-old master's degree candidate at New York University, whose net name is "Wang Cai".

Because of COVID-19, Wu Xiaoyi and Wang Cai became the "most familiar strangers". During the epidemic, flower farmers in Yunnan province suffered heavy losses. To help the farmers, Wu Xiaoyi, who lived in Hangzhou, launched an online campaign named "selling flowers to save farmers" to help flower farmers suffer less loss.

Wu Xiaoyi recalled that she and Wang Cai had never met, but they had formed a deep friendship through work.

Wu Xiaoyi said that Wang Cai could always heed details that no one else would notice.

"Despite being in the U.S., Wang Cai has always been concerned about the epidemic situation in China and wanted to help China’s flower farmers get through the crisis." Wu Xiaoyi said.

Wang Cai introduced this activity to his friends and family members, and he had also bought many flowers for many people. He also forwarded the report on "selling flowers to help farmers" to his local friends in the United States so that more people would know about it.

However, few people know that such a young man, who always cares about others and is passionate about helping others, is bearing bitter anguish that ordinary people cannot imagine.

The unexpected death of his mother dealt a heavy blow to Wang Cai, who was studying in a foreign country. "At first, he didn't even want to talk but kept silent.” Wu Xiaoyi said. In February, Wang Cai's mother was still accompanying her son in the US, but after she returned home, they never had the chance to meet again.

Because his mother's death was so sudden and the epidemic in the United States was getting worse, Wang Cai was unable to return to see his mother one last time.

When Wu Xiaoyi learned that Wang Cai, who had been sending masks to China, was running out of masks in the US, she decided to send some masks to him.

These masks had been sent from Japan to China, and now they were sent to the US to fulfill their mission.

"Although there are only 300 masks, they are very important for a young man who has just experienced great difficulties." Wu Xiaoyi said that she hoped that the 300 masks would not only show the care of a friend but also convey optimism and hope to Wang Cai.

这300个口罩，辗转日本、中国、美国三个国家。而口罩背后的小故事更是令人感动又唏嘘。

杭州与纽约直线距离超过1.2万公里，12小时时差。这批口罩的收件人，是一位在美国的中国留学生，纽约大学22岁的硕士，网名叫“旺财”。

因为新冠肺炎疫情，吴小忆和旺财成了“最熟悉的陌生人”。疫情期间，云南花农损失惨重，远在杭州的吴小忆，发起了一场“卖花救农”的活动，通过互联网，帮助花农减少因疫情带来的损失。

吴小忆回忆说，他们素未谋面，却在工作中结下了深厚的友谊。

吴小忆说，旺财总能想到很多别人不会注意到的细节。

“虽然身在美国，但旺财一直心系国内的疫情，想帮助国内的花农度过危机。”吴小忆说。

旺财把这项活动推荐给身边的亲人朋友，自己也在不断地购买鲜花送人。他还把国内关于“卖花助农”的报道，推荐给美国当地的朋友，让更多人知道。

然而，很少有人知道，这样一位始终关心他人、热心助人的小伙子，内心却承担着常人无法想象的苦痛。

母亲的意外去世，给在异国他乡求学的旺财沉重的打击。“起初，他都不愿意说话，沉默地面对命运的捉弄。”吴小忆说，2月，旺财的母亲还在美国陪伴儿子，没想到回国却是永别。

因为母亲去世太突然，加之美国的疫情越来越严重，旺财无法赶回来见母亲最后一面。

当她得知，一直在往国内寄口罩的旺财，如今在美国自己都快没有口罩用时，她第一时间就想给他寄过去。

从日本到中国，如今再去往美国，这批口罩也终于完成了它们的使命。

“虽然只有300个口罩，但对于一个刚刚经历人生变故的年轻人来说，这份支持很重要。”吴小忆说，希望300个口罩带去的不仅仅是朋友的关心关怀，更重要的是人生的希望，和人间的温暖。
